So bad that the new comeback singles by Rita Ora and Zara Larsson didn't make the top 40, those girls used to be huge a couple of years ago, and the songs are amazing. Sometimes don't understand the single charts

the carpenters were mostly known for ballads and love songs and older brother richard produced much of their music. so i'll do a carpenters mix *in no particular order* of some of their biggest hits, richard's & karen's personal faves and also mine :D and 1 warning: 1 listen to karen's beautiful silky voice, you could become addicted like me! :D they achieved top 10 *late 60s-early 80s, but very big in the 70s. michael jackson was a huge fan of theirs, the jackson 5 & the carpenters,as well as mj's early solo hits, would be in the hot 100 top 10 together a handful of times* hits all over the world, but esp. in the u.s., england and japan:

hey what's up mates!! so sorry i've been offline for awhile, had a lot of errands the last 2 wks. oh do any of you know the act are in my icon pic? the carpenters? :)))))) they were a brother/sister duo big in the 70s, richard & his younger sister karen carpenter. sadly today *2/4* is the 40th anniversary *hard to believe!* when karen passed away from heart failure due to being anorexic. i was 7 yrs old then, too young to know who she was. but after her passing, more public awareness on anorexic happened here in america.

but ;) karen had 1 of the most BEAUTIFUL singing voices of all time! you all think adele sings great? ariana? mariah? whitney? celine? well, the 70s had karen carpenter :)))) my parents had some of their records back in the day and some songs do ring a bell for me, but i was too young to really know who any of the artists *incl. mj* were on my parents stereo...so i'm gonna take everyone back in time when the carpenters were one of the biggest artists in the world, esp. in england ;) brb....

I cannot believe that RITA ORA's brand new and amazing single: "You Only Love Me" didn't even make the Top 100!! how come?! She still releases great singles but haven't had much success for the last couple of years..weird..wondering what that is? Still, looking forward to her 3rd album coming out...soon hopefully!!

NONSENSE already dropping!! SABRINA is so underrated!! as talented as OLIVIA but not getting any of her success!! so unfair!!

After 9 weeks in the chart, PINK's NEVER GONNA NOT DANCE AGAIN just made the Top 40!! I really had doubt that would have happened!! and TRUSTFALL just made the Top 75!! yippee...and soon her new album will be out!! so happy...

I never understood the reason why LEWIS CAPALDI is having more success than DERMOT KENNEDY??!! They both have a great voice (even though i cannot stand LEWIS' SONGS) , they sing similar songs but people really prefer LEWIS...

Not happy to see MADE YOU LOOK dropping so much this week!! Really thought a few weeks ago that she had a chance to claim the Top spot!!

I'M NOT HERE TO MAKE FRIENDS only debuted at number 23!! really thought the single would have made the Top 10 easily as GLORIA just came out!!

So happy for MIMI to see her having success with RED FLAGS and claiming another Top 20 under her belt...and in a month time, AMELIA will be out! Really hope the album fares better than her 1st LP!

Can we get POINTLESS out of the Top 20 next week! i really cannot stand that guy and soon we will have to endure his 2nd album in the album chart for years.....

Not a very exciting chart this week imo. That's a solid top 5 even though it hasn't changed at all from last week, but I'm glad that Sure Thing is approaching the region. Nice to see Ready to Fly reaching a new peak, one of the best dnb songs atm, and also Lavender Haze returning to the top 40 - which has been growing a lot on me lately. Other than that, Snooze entering the chart for the first time is good news too
As for next week, I hope that Boy's a Liar bounces back into the 40 now that the new remix with queen of music Ice Spice is out, and that My 21st Century Blues gets at least a top 5 debut

Finally, a week where the update was right about ‘Never Gonna Not Dance Again’ being in the Top 40! 😂

Wish ‘Trustfall’ got there instead though – a much better P!NK song in my opinion. :)

I sadly didn’t expect any songs to chart for SG Lewis, but nothing for Ava Max nor Lil Yachty either? 😔

The UK really don’t know what they’re missing out on with all three of those albums. :/

(Maybe they’re just jealous that the latter took the wock to Poland?)
