Lewis Capaldi co-wrote this wedding-ready love song with another Official Charts mainstay, Ed Sheeran, so it's no surprise that it became a massive hit. 

The second single taken from Lewis's second album Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent, became the Scottish singer's fourth UK Number 1 single. Pointless was a slow-burn on the Official Singles Chart however, finally reaching Number 1 in January 2023 during its sixth week on chart. It knocked another equally slow-burning hit off the top spot - Raye's Escapism. 

Featuring a typically yearning vocal from the Scotsman, Pointless is also notable for its most relatable and heartfelt lyrics. "I bring her coffee in the morning, she brings me inner peace," Lewis sings on the first verse. "I take her out to fancy restaurants, she takes the sadness out of me." It's touching stuff.
