BEYONCE

Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter was always destined for stardom. Never mind the two Number 1 singles she scored with girl group Destiny's Child, Beyoncé's solo career has seen her become one of the most iconic performers of her generation. With six UK Number 1 singles and four Number 1 albums to her name, Beyoncé's music has charted her journey from pop solo stardom to a true musical auteur.

Beyoncé's first solo UK Number 1 hit came in the form of pop anthem Crazy In Love back in July 2003, while twenty years later - and fourteen years since her last chart topper - on 23 February 2024 Beyoncé scored her sixth Number 1 single with country track Texas Hold Em, taken from her Renaissance Act II album project. Prior to Texas Hold Em, Beyoncé's last taste of UK Number 1 single success was 2008's If I Were A Boy.

On 5 April 2024, Official Charts announced that Beyonce had made history with Cowboy Carter as the first black artist ever to take a country album to Number 1 in the UK, topping the Official Albums Chart. It also gave Beyonce her first Number 1 on the UK's Official Country Albums Chart too.
