I don’t understand why Example’s awesome new tune SUN HITS YOUR EYES is not in this list - it should really be in at least the top 10 and also Hayla’s NAKED - another incredible tune!

'Stupid Love' was far from what the chart update predicted, but it still managed to achieve the top spot in Scotland, which is like a consolation prize, since going number 1 in the UK is a little tougher.

New Entries Best To Worst
Lady Gaga- Stupid Love [6/10]
Lil Mosey- Blueberry Faygo [5/10]
Powfu Ft. Beabadoobee- Death Bed [5/10]
Mabel- Boyfriend [1/10]
On an unrelated note, have you ever seen a song grow on everyone like Life Is Good?. I hated it at first but now listen to it at least once a day on Spotify and I've seen loads of people on the internet say something similar. Funny.

Stupid Love went number 1 in Scotland so that is nice to see.

I have to agree with your best of the week, but I think "Blueberry Fargo" is my worst of the week (least favourite of the week).

avatar

Piran

2

Hey Sergej! :)

Yeah, it was close, but I do think Lil Mosey at least has a decent flow here, so that just about saves it for me.

That's a pity that so many new singles of well-known artists didn't enter the UK Singles Chart this week. I mean artists such as Jessie Ware, Jonas Blue, Disclosure, Alex Gaudino, Cash Cash, Example, Gnash, Loud Luxury, Martin Garrix or Marshmello...

strongly in support of Mabel that song is powerful hope it climbs up I can't wait for her upcoming second album

Absolutely agree with you. Jessie Ware's new single is awesome.

Cool! I'm going on Crown Note when I've got back to everyone on here. :)

It's growing on me even more with every listen, so I think both 'Boyfriend' & 'Stupid Love' will debut on my next chart too! ;)

Yeah, but I put that more on EDM struggling as a genre more than previous years. :/

What happened with lose you to love me? Dropping 65 spots in a week when it’s still doing well on streaming and sales.. wonder what happened??

avatar

Piran

Almost certainly because of ACR.

AW

2

Yeah it’s sad to see her biggest hit have such a huge drop.. do you think it will rise again??

avatar

Piran

Sadly, I'm not sure how it can make any significant gains soon, since it already got an album boost & there's not much promotion for it at the moment.

Lady Gaga has had a top 5 song now in the U.K for 3 different decades. So happy to see it debut at 5.

avatar

Damián

2

That's good news but nothing compares to Kylie having #1 or top ten in the 80, 90, 00, 10's

J

Jstar

1

That is amazing for her. I know she had a big career especially in Europe and other parts of the world. Unfortunately she hasn't been that big here in the U.S. But I know she has been a big name.

avatar

Damián

2

That's right Jstar. She never cracked the US , having only 2 top tens in 34 years career. You see that she has had 51 top 40 in the UK so far! . Thanks for your comment, have a nice week!!

Have a nice week aswell.

AVA MAX seems to have disappeared from the UK Single chart!! She still have success in Scandinavia but her 2 last singles flopped big time here...Shame really...She deserves more success!!

P

Penny

4

I also totally adore Ava Max and I hope she'll get some success in the UK.. but there's not a song of her in the Spotify charts and on Itunes we only have "Salt" at #520 so... we probably have to wait a long time for another charting single.
But Ava will release a new song on March 12th, maybe this will be her next hit? :)

What really happened to TONES & I: NEVER SEEN THE LIGHT?!! I can't believe the single hardly made the Top 100 then left the chart after 2 weeks! I really like the single and much better than monkey dance!!

So happy to see DOJA CAT getting her first Top 10..Do hope SUMMER WALKER will as well get as much success in the UK...

I really wanted LADY GAGA to be our new number 1 this week!! Will the single drop next week or get a new high? What do you reckon Piran? Really like her new single...not her best of course but still a good song..

I’d have thought the overplay for ‘Blinding Lights’ would’ve got to me by now, but no, still loving it, haha. Honestly, this is looking a contender for song of the year already & if it does manage to do that, then it’ll probably be my favourite one since ‘Uptown Funk’ in 2015!

I’m really amazed how ‘Roses’ has reached as high as #2 (exactly where it peaked in my personal charts!). It’s even better than I still enjoy the Imambek remix a lot! I wouldn’t mind this going all the way now, just so that we don’t get another EDM song blocked in the runner-up spot.

‘Stupid Love’s debut is the other big news of the week... eh, it’s cool to see Lady Gaga back with new solo music & there’s definitely a nostalgic feel to this too, but it’s not her best!

Other highlights for me are ‘Say So’ going Top 10 thanks to some slick disco production (the video helped too) & ‘Better Off Without You’ hitting the Top 20 for being powerful yet catchy! Hopefully both of them will continue their ascents in next week’s chart.

Top 40 ratings coming later or tomorrow! :)

Hi Piran!
Yeah, still not sick of "Blinding Lights", I'm surprised that "Roses" got to #2. I really like the remix a lot.
I actually like "Stupid Love", but I agree with you, it's not her best.
"Say So" going to the top 10 and "Better Off Without You" being in the top 20 are great as well!

J

Jstar

1

Hey Piran, did you know Gaga now has a top 5 hit in the U.K in 3 different decades. I am extremely happy with this debut as her last lead didn't debut in the top 10.

avatar

Piran

2

Hey Jstar! :)

I didn’t know that actually, but that’s amazing for her.

I think Eminem might be the only other artist so far to get Top 10 singles in the UK in the 00’s, 10’s & 20’s, not counting artists who did it with Christmas songs!

J

Jstar

2

Yeah Eminem has been doing it for a while now. I see Taylor's song also re-entered the chart. Also I know you are probably happy about Physical being close to the top 10.

But you know how ecstatic I am lol. Also there has been a lot of different rumors about Gaga and Ariana on her new album. That would make me do a back flip or something lol. According to sources it is suppose to be the second single.

SH

Scott Harris

Hi Piran,
I do like 'Blinding Lights', it's a great song, but I think we need a new #1, just not 'Roses', though.
Like I've said before, 'Roses' is not great in my opinion and I don't think it counts as EDM, it's more downbeat deep house, which is not EDM in my eyes since there's nothing high-energy or electronic about it. Also, I think Saint Jhn will just be another one-hit wonder and he'll probably never get another hit after this.

Eminems actually had Top 10' in the 90's as well. His Number 1's in the 00's 10's and 20's

Super agree Dear Piran! So happy to see the fabulous Becky Hill hitting another top 20!

avatar

Piran

1

Hey Dami! :)

Yeah, I really hope to see more success for her in 2020!

Incredibly, 'Lose Control' didn't even top the dance charts or make the Top 10 of the singles chart, which was a massive surprise to me given it's longevity.

avatar

Piran

1

We'll have to agree to disagree on 'Roses', but yeah, for as amazing as 'Blinding Lights' is, it's time for a new leader now! I'm disappointed that Dua Lipa hasn't had a #1 single from her current era yet, but when the album comes out, hopefully that'll change. :)

avatar

Piran

3

Oh, if Gaga & Ariana do end up collaborating, then it'll be an almost guaranteed #1! ;)

avatar

Piran

1

Hey Sergej! :)

Yeah, 'Roses' just came out of nowhere really! Not just here, but all around the world.

I guess 'Stupid Love' is a strong lead single, but it followed 'A Star Is Born', which had some even better hits on there like 'Shallow'!

Piran
