this is so depressing honestly. girls aloud were my favourite girl group. i’ll always love the promise and biology, they soundtracked my childhood and sarah was such a talented young woman. she died way too young. rest in peace to sarah and f*** cancer.

the album was definitely worth the year-and-a-month-long wait, only one song was bad. hurricane, off the grid and jesus lord are my favourite tracks.

A) Elvis is dead. The Beatles have been broken up for many decades and 2 of them are dead. Queen is dead now Freddie Mercury is dead.

B) They don’t get chucked out. If a song sold 100k on ACR , it’d still land top 5 (ie, Christmas Songs).

C) 19 times out of 20, songs on ACR are dead meat anyway, and it just helps to clear the bottom 20 of the top 40 to make room for new songs. From a radio point of view, playing the same songs every week is a pain in the . It’s only ever bad when a song is still in the top 10, or 20, and still has a lot of life left in it, like Mood and Drivers License, which should’ve been at number one for two more weeks.

D) it’s good in the cases of songs like ‘Save Your Tears’ because that song wasn’t going to get any higher, and it just sped up the process. Cases like that are good. The system is heavily flawed and should use a bit more common sense, however, it’s also beneficial. If mood hadn’t entered ACR, Lemonade wouldn’t have gotten number one, and if Drivers License hadn’t entered ACR, Wellerman would’ve never gotten number one. It’s sad to admit it but if we didn’t have ACR, we’d still be moaning because there’d be no chart movement, and nothing to moan about.

As to B, so if you have 5 songs, selling ( let's keep this simple ) 90, 100, 120, 150 and 200 copies, but the one selling 150 has been out longer , it gets halved to 75 and even though it is the second best selling it ends up in number 5 position.

Also, re-reading your post you make it sound as though if someone is dead they should not be allowed to have a hit .
So what if they are dead, THE MUSIC STILL LIVES ON AND IS LOVED AND BOUGHT BY MILLIONS.

No, it doesn’t affect copies sold, it only affects streams. A song selling 200 copies will always sell 200 copies. It’s only if it gets 1500 units from streaming that it gets halved to 750 :)

Yeah they should just promote the singles (allow no limit to it) not the non singles. These charts nowadays are cancelled and . I think this is goodbye for the Official Charts rules - ACR and 3 song rule. You guys will soon change your minds to remove these rules and we will have the chart that we wanted back for 4 years. This is a singles chart not a songs chart for crying out loud. OCC hear me out. There should be only a 3 non-singles rule . I think the more we wait for these rules to be removed and changed the slowly the charts are getting less relevant.

Look at what happened in March 2017. I know the probably most unforgivable thing happened with Ed's album bomb being all in the top 20 but that was a one off. That shouldn't mean that they enforce an ACR and 3 song rule. I mean that was the increasingly unforgivable thing that happened at the charts. Yeah sure OCC want new artists on the chart but I find it biased. I believe it is not the correct statistics because surely you wouldn't complain if like 4-5 songs of the same artist charted like there is nothing wrong with that. There are so many artists who suffered ACR and the 3 song rule and we deserve to give them justice. I hope these rules get removed and hopefully they make changes to it. Good night.

My ideal chart would be
1. No ACR
2. Unlimited amount of songs from the same artist (only if they are good)
3. Real sales (Combined)
4. Streaming
5. Digital Download
6. Re-entries

Look what happened with many artists like Lewis Capaldi, Ed Sheeran, Olivia Rodrigo, Doja Cat, Drake, The Weekend and many others. Enough is enough. Time to make change and hopefully convince OCC to remove ACR and that stupid 3 track rule.

It's like they are taking revenge on successful artists and basically saying 'shame on you'. Like it ain't fair. OCC shouldn't stop people's success.

The last time they only should use ACR is with 'Bad Habits' and then they should remove it completely for the future charts.
