English DJ Riton (real name Henry Smithson, born September 13, 1978 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne) teamed up with producers Nightcrawlers (real name John Reid, born September 6, 1963) and social media personalities Mufasa & Hypeman (real names Jeff Obeng and CT Moody) for Friday in January 2021. Riton previously had Top 40 singles such as Rinse & Repeat featuring Kah-Lo and Turn Me On with Oliver Heldens featuring Vula, while Nightcrawlers has written songs including Number 1 hits Unbreakable by Westlife and Kelly Clarkson/Leona Lewis' A Moment Like This. Mufasa and Hypeman shot to fame on TikTok during the COVID-19 lockdown with their dance craze which was soundtracked by Nightcrawlers’ club classic Push The Feeling On, which Friday samples.
