I’d love to know how ‘Love Again’ is charting as it isn’t even on iTunes, Apple Music, Deezer, Amazon Music or Spotify charts. IK it has some views on yt but seriously it shouldn’t be charting b

Those youtube views count as streams, presumably a significant portion of them are in the UK.

I can't tell you how happy I am to see Welcome to the Internet by Bo Burnham in the Top 100. WOW - take it the video streams on YouTube are being counted in, as it's not really set streaming alight. Probably gonna be out the Top 100 by Friday, but I really hope not - was the highlight of his new show. Part of me wants it going in a Top 40, but I can't see that ha.

Outside of that fairly disappointing, thought we'd see a few new entries. Solar Power at 10 seems pretty low, Three Lions looks on track for a good finish - looks as though the charity song boom maybe be going bust looking at Vindaloo Two - released for NHS Together - so would have thought it might do better; original vindaloo outdoing it on spotify seemingly.

Thought either Alan Walker x Imanbek - Sweet Dreams or Marshmello's Shockwave might have made it top 100 tbh. But not to be. Glad as to see Lost Cause tumbling out the chart, it's absolutely dog excrement and some of the more insensitive lyrics I've seen released during the pandemic..... that said that could be as much down to the seeming lack of promotion of it.

Olivia Rodrigo's streams seem to be starting to steadily decline now, still way ahead of the nearest competition on Spotify (770,000ish to Three Lions 490,000ish - but obviously the latter's an abnormal play count with the match) probably not going to beat off ACR without insane sales though after 9 weeks - although with Drake and Ed Sheeran throwing out new music soon, that is probably soon going to be irrelevant.

Save Your Tears chart position continues to confound me, combining the two presumably. It's not streaming that well, and can't imagine it's selling that well.

Bye Your Side continues to hugely underperform most expectations of it - wonder if we'll get a Calvin Harris song more akin to his recent fair than this throwback in the next few months, as this doesn't seem to be going anywhere near the top.

Anyway let's hope things are a bit more interesting on Friday.

I wouldn't underestimate 'by your side' as 'giants' began to flounder for Calvin with Rag n Bone man then git some promotion to get it to the top 10 then as it was stalling slightly again it went on TV, think it was Graham Norton or similar and then went huge. When Calvin took a change of direction it didn't do well at all and neither did his pseudonym releasing music. I think this will get heavy promotion and climb top 10

To be fair even if it doesn't, it's a remarkable achievement to even be getting Top 40 singles at his stage in his career fairly regularly. How many acts that first managed a Top 40 in 2007 are still around in the charts!!!!!!!!

The Kylie fans didn't even get her Gaga cover into the Top 100

Where is 'save your tears' chart position coming from? It doesn't seem to be doing that well on any streaming platform and it's sales don't seem to be good yet its still no.2 on the official update? Is it just the 2 versions combined that's keeping it so high? Not that it's not a great tune, just don't see where its position, compared to other tracks in the upper region is coming from.

The sales and streaming of the remix and original are combined which might be why it's so high unfortunately I don't see it going to 1

'Heartbreak Anthem' is up to a new peak yet again! :D

It's so typical that 'Rapstar' goes on ACR in the week that Polo G's album gets released! :(

avatar

Piran

7

'Three Lions' already at #19 even with ACR against it? :O

With the momentum it has right now, I think it could be contending for a place in the Top 5 by the end of the week!

I hope not...

Yeah, I know you're not a fan of it! :P

I would probably hate it even if I was English. 😩

It depends if you follow football or not, haha. :)

Surely it should come off ACR for the tournament? That explains why it so low if it's on it - I thought it would be a Top 10.

avatar

Tbf if they'd actually released a new football song for this tournament it might have took a bit of the spotlight away from Three Lions, World in Motion and Vindaloo.

Some celebrities did release a new version of 'Vindaloo' for charity this year! I think they're raising money for the NHS & it's by a collective called Together For England, which features Paddy McGuinness & Keith Lemon, for example. :)

I think it's on permanently ACR sadly, since it's over three years old! Usually, a song could get reset from ACR if it experienced a 25% or more gain in performance from the previous week, but I don't think that's the case for throwbacks like these (same with the Christmas songs every year). :/

Oh yeah, tonight will be interesting, won't it? :P

Given where you're from, you probably hate it even more now, haha. :)

Nah, it won’t, we’re getting destroyed. 😩

At least you guys made a major international football tournament for the first time this century though, but that being said, you know exactly who I'm backing tonight! ;)
