Wham: Last Christmas should be this years Christmas #1 so I would like people to stream the song or download it off of itunes. Hopefully by tomorrow it should be the Christmas number 1 and not that rubbish song by Airana Grande. STREAM IT OR DOWNLOAD IT!!!!

Where are the good seasonal songs? I remember being a kid in the early 90s, and in that year was Mariah's all i want for christmas is you released and also East 17's stay another day.
East 17's stay another day was the number one, beautiful song, and Mariah was number 2.
Where are those days? It shows clearly how much better the songs were then :(

Or the previous year when Meatloaf's - I would do anything for love was the number 1 for christmas OR before that year Whitney's smash - I will always love you.

When will be the music the same quality like in the years 1994 and before?

As we get nearer to the Christmas Chart, didn't the X Factor winner always be there for the Number One spot??

Dalton Harris and James Arthurs song The Power has dropped from #4 to #19 that is quite a big drop

The days of the X Factor winner getting Christmas number one are gone! 2014 was the last X Factor Christmas number one.

"If ACR had not been introduced earlier this year, 18 of the Top 40 this week would be seasonal songs, and All I Want For Christmas Is You would be No.1 for the first time ever on consumption of 59,503 units." (Source: Music Week)

Since summer 2018, any song that is 3 years or older is permanently on ACR (streaming is halved). I'm sad to see that Mariah would have finally got to #1 after 24 years, but has been denied because of this new rule.

Stupid rules. Whatever is streamed/sold the most should be No.1 - simple!

Wrong...! Streaming should NEVER be considered as 'sales' - at best, a separate Chart for streaming should be compiled - otherwise, why not include radio airplay when compiling the chart?

My thoughts & observations on the UK charts as always…

- ‘Thank U, Next’ by Ariana Grande is #1 on the singles chart for a sixth consecutive week, with a 9,000 combined sales lead. It is now the longest #1 by a female artist since ‘Bleeding Love’ by Leona Lewis in 2007.

- In only its second week on the chart, ‘Nothing Breaks Like A Heart’ by Mark Ronson ft Miley Cyrus reaches #1 on the national airplay chart.

- ‘Thank U, Next’ is #1 for a second week on the YouTube chart, with 7.52 million plays!

- There are 12 Christmas songs inside this week’s Top 40, while this time last year, there were 17.

- XXXTENTACION – WOAH [MIND IN AWE] (#37)
Unless any of you can’t tell by now, I was never a fan of XXXTENTACION’s music. At best, his songs were barely passable & at worst, he’s provided us with some of worst album tracks of the entire decade! With this, believe It or not, there was actually a considerable amount of potential here; particularly with that jingly beat & XXXTENTACION’s verse about providing for his family as well as his troubled past & particularly telling his mum that he would make it big one day. Unfortunately, those lyrics only last for eight short lines & the rest of the song is just “Woah” repeated with extended syllables, as well as his continually poor annunciation throughout. This might be one of his better new songs, but when we’re getting a avalanche of Christmas songs re-entering & climbing the Top 40 at the same time, I’d rather listen to those than check out the rest of ‘Skins’. Light 5/10.

- On the albums chart, ‘The Greatest Showman: Soundtrack’ returns to #1 for the first time since July. Overall, this is its 22nd non-consecutive week at #1, but it has best combined sales week yet shifting 57,000 copies since last Friday.

- The rest of the Top 5 is: ‘Staying At Tamara’s’ by George Ezra (4-2), ‘Love’ by Michael Buble (stationary at #3), ‘Unchained Melody’ by Rob Orbison (debuts at #4) & ‘Odyssey’ by Take That (stationary at #5).

- Looking ahead to next week, these songs could enter the Top 40 for the first time: ‘We Built This City’ by LadBaby, ‘Light Up’ by Flakefleet Primary, ‘Imagine’ by Ariana Grande & maybe even more.

- Thanks for reading everyone! I hope you all have a good weekend. :)

So, we have 2 more weeks for "Sweet But Psycho" to have a legitimate chance at the #1? After the 10th week, her streams will be counted as half if I'm not mistaken. Seems like her peak will be #2.

One more week actually, since next Friday is the reveal of the Christmas chart!

Oh yeah, I mistyped it. I meant the #1 at any time but got it mixed up with the Christmas #1. Edited comment.

Because of its sales increases week by week, Ava will avoid ACR for a while longer than that!
