IT'S CHRIIIISTMAAAAS! Slade are renowned for their massive Xmas hit Merry Xmas Everybody, which scooped the coveted Christmas Number 1 1973 and celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2023.

Slade were formed in 1966 in Wolverhampton before rising to prominence in the glam rock era. Slade members Noddy Holder (vocalist) and Jim Lea together penned all six of Slade's Number 1 singles, including Cum On Feel The Noize, their breakthrough hit Coz I Love You, Take Me Back 'Ome, Mama Weer All Crazee Now and Skweeze Me, Pleeze Me. The 1980 #70 entry of Merry Xmas Everybody was a rerecording featuring The Reading Choir. It should be listed separately as Slade vs Flush is.
