Acts who have reached Number 1 with all their studio albums
Brandon Flowers - 9
When Brandon Flowers isn't making the world swoon, he's out making music so good that it's all managed to hit Number 1.
The Killers' seven studio albums and Brandon's two solo efforts Flamingo and The Desired Effect all hit the peak of the Official Albums Chart. One of Brandon's solo singles was called I Can Change, but we really hope he doesn't. You keep doing you Brandon because the UK loves it.
Coldplay - 9
Chris, Guy, Jonny and Will's music has evolved over the years, but that doesn't mean they've lost any of their appeal.
Coldplay's nine studio albums all hit Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart, and all but one - 2015's A Head Full Of Dreams - debuted at Number 1. Their most recent release Music of the Spheres was the fastest-selling album in the UK for over two years.
The Killers - 7
Hot Fuss, Sam's Town, Day & Age, Battle Born, Wonderful Wonderful, Imploding The Mirage and Pressure Machine all hit Number 1, meaning The Killers are the only international act with a flawless albums record of 3 Number 1s or more.
Just in case you all wondered, The Killers' album Sawdust is a b-sides collection, so when it comes to studio albums, the Nevadan collective are (sorry) killing it.
Ed Sheeran - 6
The nation's favourite redhead (other than Geri of course) is next! Ed Sheeran's third album ÷ qualified him for this particular stellar achievement. That mega chart topper is the third fastest-selling album in history! His fourth studio album No.6 Collaborations Project joined ÷, + and x in the club in July 2019, while his latest album = earned him a fifth in October 2021 and - (Subtract) bumped it up to six in May 2023. Phew.
The 1975 - 5
The 1975 boast five Official Number 1 albums; the latest being 2022's Being Funny In A Foreign Language. Matty Healy, George Daniel, Ross MacDonald and Adam Hann also topped the charts with their eponymous 2013 debut, 2016 record I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it, 2018 release A Brief Enquiry Into Online Relationships and 2020 chart-topper Notes On A Conditional Form. The Cheshire-formed group are level with Ed Sheeran, also with five.
Adele - 4
No surprises that Adele makes this elite list. She can claim a four-strong complete set of Number 1 albums. Her studio collections 19, 21 and 25 are some of the UK's best selling albums of all time, while her latest set 30 is the fastest-seller of 2021. 25 is also the fastest to reach three million sales.
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - 3
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds have a perfect Official Chart history when it comes to their studio albums. All three topped the Official Chart, with the first being the fastest-selling debut album of the 2010s decade by a group.
Royal Blood - 3
Brighton rock band Royal Blood have sat on the throne of the Official Albums Chart with every release: Royal Blood (2014), How Did We Get So Dark? (2017) and Typhoons (2021).
Those Who Just Missed Out
This poor lot. While hugely successful, they're victims of The One That Got Away. The acts with four or more Number 1 studio albums who only have one blip are...
Of his five solo studio albums, only 1999's Songs from the Last Century by the late George Michael failed to hit the top spot, peaking at 2.
Next up, One Direction, The Prodigy and Kasabian are all victims of a debut album letting them down. 1D's first offering Up All Night was only ever a runner-up, Kasabian's self-titled debut stuck at Number 4 for three weeks, while The Prodigy's inaugural release only peaked at Number 12.
The Script hit a snag in the middle of their career; their third of five albums titled #3 peaked at Number 2. Similarly, Honeymoon, Lana Del Rey's third of six is also her only LP to miss Number 1, held off by David Gilmour.
Finally, Keane's streak of four Number 1s ended when their first album in seven years Cause and Effect topped out at Number 2 in 2019.
