OASIS

Oasis emerged from Manchester in the 1990s and came to typify a new generation of ambitious British bands - and spearheaded the Britpop movement.

Centred around brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, Oasis landed their first UK Top 40 single with Supersonic in April 1994, then four months Live Forever would become their first Top 10 hit, and the first of a staggering 22 consecutive Top 10 singles for the band.

Oasis's first Number 1 single came courtesy of Some Might Say, toppling Take That's Back For Good to take pole position on the Official Singles Chart for one week between 30 April to 6 May 1995.

They went on to become one of the most successful bands in history, amassing eight Number 1 albums. Oasis's second album What's The Story Morning Glory is the fifth best-selling album of all time in the UK while follow-up project Be Here Now claims the fastest-selling album of all time after selling 696,000 copies in just three days in its first chart week.
