Liam Gallagher tops the list of 2019's best-selling vinyl albums.
The Britpop legend's second solo album Why Me? Why Not leads the Top 40 most popular albums of last year on wax, achieving 30,000 sales on the revived format. The album, which reached Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart in September, achieved first week sales on vinyl of 17,000, making it the fastest-selling vinyl album of 2019 and the format's fastest-seller of the millennium by a solo artist.
In 2019, vinyl sales grew for the 12 consecutive year, rising 4.1% to 4.3 million units sold. Vinyl albums now account for one in every eight albums bought in the UK.

With 28,800 sales, Fleetwood Mac's classic album Rumours charts at Number 3 on the year-end chart. The album was reissued alongside other key records in Fleetwood Mac's back catalogue, pressed on clear vinyl for the first time. The album returned to Number 1 on the Official Vinyl Albums Chart post-Christmas.
The UK's best-selling album of all-time Greatest Hits by Queen is at Number 4, spurred on by a first-time red vinyl release as part of hmv Vinyl Week 2019 and the success of the movie Bohemian Rhapsody. The Beatles' Abbey Road rounds out the Top 5 at Number 5 after being reissued for its 50th anniversary in 2019.
