The runaway success of Lewis Capaldi’s debut album doesn’t appear to be slowing down yet - the Scottish singer-songwriter leads the way as the UK’s biggest album of 2020 so far.
Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent debuted at Number 1 upon its release last May and went on to be 2019’s biggest album in the UK. The record has so far logged nine weeks at Number 1, including three this year - and has yet to leave the Top 10 some 45 weeks after its release. It’s total chart sales stand at 846,000, including 205,000 from this year alone.

Stormzy’s second album Heavy Is The Head, which hit Number 1 in January, is the second biggest album of 2020 so far, on 129k this year (218k in total).
The biggest album released in 2020 is Eminem’s Music To Be Murdered By, currently in third place (110k). The US rapper’s eleventh studio album debuted at Number 1 in January, scoring the Official Chart double as Godzilla also landed at the top of the singles chart.

Other big albums released this year include J Hus’s February chart-topper Conspiracy Theory, ranking seventh on the year-to-date chart, and Map Of The Soul – 7 by BTS, a Number 1 in March, in eighth place.
Elsewhere in the Top 40, Mabel’s 2019 debut album High Expectations holds in the Top 20 at 20 following her BRIT Award win for British Female Artist in February. Trap wave rapper M Huncho places at 21 with his latest release Huncholini The 1st, and D-Block Europe’s latest collection Street Trauma – a Top 10 in January – is at 26.
