Sam Feldt enters at #4 with his incredible remix of Show Me Love! Fast forward to 2019 and he’d go on to make my favourite song of that year with RANI. :D

AGEISM is everywhere, Diplo got the reason! Current music labels don't want that 'old' artists to succed ex., Madonna, Janet, Mariah...

They don't want Madonna anymore either, and they're trying to get rid of her now.

Is WB releasing Kaya Stewart "In Love With a Boy" in England?

Since the publication date changed, this has messed up the continuity of the database. A record that has been in the chart for 10 consecutive weeks now looks like it has two separate runs of 7 weeks and 3 weeks. Can someone at OCC try and fix this please? Thanks.

Using streaming for the charts is rubbish. When I used to buy a CD single it didn't matter if I listened to it 20 times every day for a year. It was sold once. Why didn't they make it one sale for the first time a song is streamed on a pay service, and then leave it.

I agree. The chart is utterly worthless now. Not only is most of the music bland, forgettable formulaic junk "performed" by faceless non-entities, the method of calculating it is nonsense. RIP pop music.

Music indeed is rubbish these days (on the charts anyway), but the chart is supposed to measure songs' popularity and it would make no sense to ignore streaming figures, since these services make one of the most popular ways people listen to music now.

I think they will have to change the formula at some point. While streaming is growing the problem of stagnation is being masked because new songs are streaming at higher levels, but when it levels out there will be no reason for a popular song ever to leave the chart because it will just remain in people's playlists. We're already starting to see it as Happy heads towards two solid years in the top 100. I wouldn't be surprised if Thinking Out Loud spent the rest of the decade in the chart.

'Shine' do Years & Years vendeu mais que os dois que ficaram a frente dela nas 2 ultimas actualizações. Semana que vem vai ter que pegar esse #1!

Ageism in radio and the music industry is disgusting and disgraceful. Madonna, Janet Jackson, Take That??? Stop acting like only teenagers listen to music.

Spotify data missing last week, perhaps? Avicii has just been released as digital download, I believe...

Correct. With no Spotify data, any song that had been in the chart based on streaming alone had no chance last week. The three songs that re-entered the top 40 would all probably have been in last week's chart if Spotify data had been included. It means that the longest top 40 run in chart history (Thinking Out Loud) was ended by a data error.
