New Releases: Demi Lovato, Sugababes, Diddy, Mitksi and more

This week's biggest new single, album and DVD releases all in one place, only on Official Charts.

Jumping straight into this week's big new album releases; Demi Lovato has been on a mission to revamp (literally) her past discography into guttural, pop-punk ragers. While it may not work for some of her classics (the delicate synths of Give Your Heart A Break and the EDM gloomwobble of Heart Attack just don't translate as well) for others, it's ascendant, like her do-or-die ballad Skyscraper or early career highlight Don't Forget, which meets its final, greatest form in 2023.

US alt-rock icon Mitski releases her most uncompromising project yet on The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We, dropping little over a year from her 2022 record Laurel Hell. Apparently, Mitski was unsure over whether to re-sign to her label and continue releasing music after the increased pressure and exposure her last record gave her, but it's good to have her back, distinctly on her own terms too.

Fresh after being honoured at this week's MTV VMA awards, Diddy has released his first album of new material in nearly 20 years. The Love Album: Off The Grid is only Combs's sixth studio effort overall, and comes jampacked with collaborations from the likes of The Weeknd, 21 Savage, Justin Bieber and Mary J Blige.

Rising pop starlet Madison Beer has been steadily releasing the best music of her career this year (shoutout to Home To Another One, one of the year's best and most surprising pop tracks) and this all comes to a head with her second record, Silence Between Songs.

As for new singles this week, we're welcoming back none other than the Sugababes tonight, who are releasing their first proper single together since 2013 in When The Rain Comes. We got a taste of the brilliance they were cooking up in 2013 as MKS when the Lost Tapes dropped last year, but hopefully this new track will signal lots of new music to come from a trio who are still regarded as the high mark for British female pop groups.

Elsewhere, Zara Larsson teams up with her old mate David Guetta for a new bop (On My Love), Tate McRae's first new track of the year is a jittering, hip-hop leaning banger (Greedy) and Sia gives us a taste of her first big pop solo album in over half a decade (Gimme Love).

Really is there only 13 new albums released this week? i know there is more as several new release  rock albums are not listed. This begs the questions is the official charts anti Rock or is this effectively 21st century payola?
