BTS have smashed a YouTube record set by fellow K-pop stars Blackpink just days before.

YouTube confirmed on Twitter on Saturday 13 April that the band had set the record, and the numbers have now been officially verified by the platform.

Boy With Luv ft. Halsey, which is set to debut in the Official Singles Chart Top 10 this Friday, clocked up 74.6 million views in just one day.

YouTube has also confirmed the visuals hit 100 million views in less than 48 hours, smashing a second record as the fastest ever music video to reach 100 million views.

Just a few days prior, Blackpink surpassed Ariana Grande's record breaking 24-hour debut for Thank U, Next, with 56.7 million views on their Kill This Love video on its first day.

BTS are currently on course to take their first UK Number 1 album with Map Of The Soul: Persona. See their full Official Charts History here.
