ANNA CALVI

Anna Calvi was born September 24, 1980 in London and is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist. Anna Calvi began playing music at an early age, learning violin at the age of six, guitar at eight and then recording her own music by the time she reached ten, and was heavily inspired by Jimi Hendrix and Debussy. Anna Calvi released her eponymous debut album in 2011, and has seen each of her first three albums nominated for the Mercury Prize. Anna Calvi has worked with an array of musicians including Brian Eno and also composed the music for the fifth series of TV drama Peaky Blinders. Image: JM Enternational/Shutterstock
