WIZKID

Wizkid is a Nigerian singer and songwriter, born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun on July 16, 1990 in Surulere, Lagos. Wizkid grew up in an interfaith household with 12 female siblings, and once claimed in an interview with Tim Westwood that his dad had three wives(!), and formed his first musical outfit The Glorious Five while still at school. Wizkid started going by the name of Lil Prinz until 2006, and soon met producer OJB Jezreel who wouldn’t let him record anything for a year. Wizkid released his debut album Superstar in 2011, and worked with the likes of Tinie Tempah, Femi Kuti and racked up a whopping 15 weeks as a UK Official Singles Chart Number 1 in 2016 with Drake and the song One Dance.
