
Fugees were an American hip-hop group formed in 1992, consisting of rappers, singers and producers Wyclef Jean (born Nel Ust Wyclef Jean October 17, 1969 in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti), Lauryn Hill (born May 26, 1975 in Queens, New York), and Pras Michel (born Prakazrel Samuel Michel in Brooklyn on October 19, 1972). Fugees scored two Official Singles Chart Number 1s in 1996, with the million-selling cover of Roberta Flack’s Killing Me Softly, and Ready Or Not, and their accompanying album The Score peaked at Number 2 on the Official Albums Chart that same year.
