The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights is on course to claim this week’s Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart, currently up one place to 1 on today's Official Chart: First Look (Feb 2).

The Canadian singer looks set to knock last week’s chart-topper, Before You Go by Lewis Capaldi, to 2. If Blinding Lights holds on, it’ll be The Weeknd's first chart-topper in the UK. His previous best was 2016’s Number 2-peaking Starboy. View The Weeknd's full Official UK Chart history.

Dua Lipa is flexing in a big way this week: her new single Physical looks like it’ll be the highest new entry on Friday’s Official Singles Chart, currently at 11, while previous single Don’t Start Now is at 4. See where all of Dua's songs have charted here.

YouTuber and boxing champion KSI is on track to land his third UK Top 40 single; new release Wake Up Call ft. US rapper Trippie Redd starts at 16.

I'm happy with 'Blinding Lights' going #1, it's the better song out of the two The Weeknd released simultaneously. Plus I really want 'Physical' to make the top 10, it's a great song that deserves top 10 status and hopefully become a bigger hit in the future!

I don't mind The Weekend doing it now as it sounds so 80s retro of my teen years..Dua Lipa could eventually succeed.

Really happy to see the weeknd finally on course for number 1! I do wonder tho where dance monkey would be without acr as its heading back into the top 10 again!

OMG!!! GET IN THERE!!! :D

Honestly, if 'Blinding Lights' does get the #1, it'll easily be my favourite chart moment of 2020 so far. Britain, it's up to you now to make sure it stays there until Friday!

On top of that, it's amazing seeing 'Physical' as the top debut of the week, since it's an easy 10/10 from me right now! I think it can sneak into the Top 10 before the final chart though.

I said on my comment piran and it will be interesting to think your opinions on this.
Own it has hit acr and fell from 5 to 20. Dance monkey with acr is at number 10. I really do start to get the impression that that all time number 1 record really should be broken

Hey mate! :)

Sorry if I've missed any comments of yours lately, but I've just had such a busy weekend, haha.

Yeah, 'Own It' had a really strong run, but it was always due to go on ACR before too long!

I certainly agree with you regarding 'Dance Monkey'! It would've had a very good chance of being #1 in the final chart without ACR, while according to RIME, 'Before You Go' is apparently the only song that would've been #1 this year both with & without ACR, showing you how much this rule really doesn't work on the official charts.

Regardless, it's absolutely insane to see 'Someone You Loved' move back up to #6, when it was breaking into the Top 10 for the first time around this time last year!

It’s fine don’t worry!
Can u send me the link to that RIME site please I’d like to have a look at it. But honestly yea the rule is an absolute joke. Dance monkey would be the longest number 1 if it wasn’t for this rule something needs to change!

It is mad seeing how someone you loved is not only there still but climbing aswell as bad guy! Both of which I believe will be sung at the brits so won’t be going anywhere anytime soon which is just crazy.

One thing tho which I’d really like to see this week is Lonley by Joel Corry hit the top 40 and hopefully 20 soon as it is without doubt my favourite song around at this moment!

Oh, it's not a site, it's a user who commented on this week's main singles chart page (the one that shows the actual chart itself instead of a singles chart article).

'Bad Guy' might be related to its recent Grammys success, but yeah, I can't explain the unstoppable success for 'Someone You Loved', other than the fact that people might be rediscovering it thanks to a deluxe edition of Lewis' album not coming out too long ago.

Do you think it's better than 'Sorry'? If so, then I'm very excited to hear it! :D

Hey Piran!
Oh, please, please, I want "Blinding Lights" to stay at #1 till Friday, it would be the most satisfying chart moment of the year too. Don't screw this up (like you did with Brexit), Britain.
"Physical" is amazing too, really hoping for a top 10 debut too!

Hey Sergej! How's your weekend been? :)

Yeah, nothing is worse than a song you love going to #1 in the mid-week update, but never actually getting there in the final chart.

I don't see any reason why 'Blinding Lights' wouldn't get the top spot, but there's still four more days of tracking to go, so I'll feel even more confident if it's still there on tomorrow's chart!

Interesting to see how long someone you loved and bad guy stay in the chart for!
I’ll have to have a look and I’m not sure because I still to this day love sorry but lonley really is a banger and I suggest you give it a listen right now if you haven’t yet!

I feel the drop's a bit too similar to 'Sorry', but the powerful vocals are certainly a winner!

We really need Joel Corry & Becky Hill to collaborate though!

That would be so lit! :D

Wouldn’t suprise me one bit if a colab like that occurred. But I think it bangs aha

Yeah, they would be a perfect fit for one another! :D

Oh, 'Lonely's still good, I just think I prefer 'Sorry' for now, haha.
