It seems every lad and his Labradoodle's talking about Saltburn right now, no?

Emerald Fennell's latest psychological black comedy, starring Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi and Rosamund Pike, landed on Amazon Prime Video on December 22nd; and it's been causing quite the commotion ever since. And it's not only the movie's stunning cinematography, satirical storyline and very naked scenes that've got the world talking.

The soundtrack slaps, too.

Set in mid-noughties England, Saltburn's soundtrack serves as a welcome slice of nostalgia for millennials, while introducing new audiences to some undeniable Y2K bangers (look no further than Sophie Ellis-Bextor's Murder on the Dancefloor, which is experiencing quite the chart resurgence in the UK and on the US Billboard Hot 100 right now).

Following its inclusion in the film, Sophie Ellis-Bextor's Murder on the Dancefloor recently returned to the Official Singles Chart Top 10 for the first time in 22 years; re-entering the chart at Number 8.

The song, which peaked at Number 2 upon its original release in 2001, is currently tracking re-enter the chart at Number 27 this Friday (January 5) as it provides the soundtrack to Saltburn's pivotal final scene.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) to thank fans for their support, Sophie said: "Wow.. thank you for all the Murder love. Happy new year! Xx"

Speaking to People about the very memorable Saltburn scene recently, Sophie explained she 'wasn't quite ready for the visual.'

"Seeing it written down as a premise is different," she said. "I mean, Barry really went for it. And it’s, like, the whole song.

"I mean, he’s never going to be able to hear that in the same way again!"
