Jess Glynne could be entering the Official Charts history books this week as her latest track Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself takes an early lead on the Official Singles Chart.

If the song holds on to its lead until Friday, it would become her fifth chart-topping single and match Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s record of five Number 1s on the Official Singles Chart – the most for a British solo female.

Glynne’s previous chart leaders are Rather Be (with Clean Bandit in 2014), My Love (with Route 94 in 2014), Hold My Hand (2015) and Not Letting Go (with Tinie Tempah in 2015). Click here to view her full Official Chart history

Meanwhile, last week’s Number 1 Marvin Gaye by Charlie Puth slips to 2, and Calvin Harris & Disciples’ How Deep Is Your Love is at 3.

French DJ and producer Martin Solveig is on track to land his first UK Top 10 single this week with his GTA collaboration Intoxicated, up 104 places to Number 4, and The Weeknd’s Can’t Feel My Face completes the Top 5.

New entries and high climbers

Outside the Top 10, rising star Pia Mia vaults from 67 to Number 11 on today’s Update with Do It Again ft. Chris Brown, and 5 Seconds Of Summer’s Fly Away – the latest release from their Sounds Good Feels Good album – lands at 13.

Further down today’s Update Top 40, Maroon 5 are on course to land their 17th UK Top 40 with This Summer’s Gonna Hurt Like A, currently at 22, and Swedish production duo Galantis leap 15 places to 26 with their latest track Peanut Butter Jelly.

This is comparing oranges to apples, Jess is great, but no way she's in the same league as Cheryl's singles, she's only a featured player in three of them... Official charts please don't be deceiving!

I LOVE JESS, but to be HONEST she had one single #1 if we count her SOLO SINGLES.
All of her collab should be counted as a "group" single, so she could easily compete with Spice Girls and i don't think she will overcome Geri Halliwell or Cheryl, counting her #1s with Girls Aloud. JUSTICE :D
