Architects are a British metalcore band formed in Brighton, England, comprising of vocalist Sam Carter (born September 9, 1988), drummer Dan Searle (born October 23, 1987), bassist Alex "Ali" Dean, rhythm guitarist Adam Christianson, and lead guitarist Josh Middleton. Former members include bassist Tim Lucas, lead vocalist Matt Johnson, and rhythm guitarist Tim Hillier-Brook. Tom Searle, lead guitarist and principle songwriter and twin brother to drummer Dan, passed away from melanoma skin cancer aged 28 on August 20, 2016. Architects' sixth studio album 2014's Lost Forever // Lost Together was their first to crack the Official Albums Chart Top 40, peaking at Number 16, and was named Best Album at the 2014 Kerrang! Awards. Architects' 2018 album Holy Hell peaked at Number 1 on the Official Record Store Chart. In 2018 and 2019, Architects were named Best British Live Act by Kerrang! magazine. In 2021, their ninth studio album For Those That Wish To Exist became their first Number 1 on the UK's Official Albums Chart. Architects have scored six Number 1 albums on the UK's Rock & Metal Albums Chart.
