Doja Cat paints the town red for a fifth consecutive week at the top of the Official Singles Chart.

Once again, the hard-edged rap track (which samples Dionne Warwick’s classic standard Walk On By) clings on to Number 1 as the most-streamed track of the week in the UK, with over 5 million streams to its name.

Not far behind, however, is newcomer Kenya Grace and her elegant breakthrough hit Strangers, which is only 2,000 chart units away from Paint The Town Red, at Number 2. Could she de-throne Doja next week?

MORE: Check out our interview with Kenya Grace here.

Rising to Number 3 today is Tate McRae with her kinetic break-up anthem greedy. It becomes Tate’s joint highest-peaking track in the UK, alongside 2020 lockdown hit you broke me first.

BTS member Jung Kook debuts at Number 5 with Jack Harlow collab 3D, becoming the first K-pop soloist to achieve two UK Top 5 singles. Read more about that here.

It’s a big week for Tyla, who achieves her first-ever UK Top 10 hit with Water. The South African artist’s breakthrough hit this week topped the UK’s Official Afrobeats Chart, making her only the fourth woman (after Tems, Libianca and Ayra Starr) to do so since its launch.

Sonny Fodera, MK and Clementine Douglas are up three to a new peak on Asking (11) as Burna Boy also lifts three on City Boys (14).

After scoring her first Top 40 entry last week, US alt-pop icon Mitski’s My Love Mine All Mine vaults 29 places to Number 15, while Billy Gillies and Hannah Boleyn fly 12 on DNA (Loving You) at Number 18.

On the up again, Issey Cross’s Bittersweet Goodbye hits a new peak after climbing six places (19), Ed Sheeran’s American Town scores a Top 40 debut (25), and Chase & Status, Hedex and ArrDee’s Liquor & Cigarettes jumps six (29).

Earning their first Top 40 entry today are Suicidal-Idol on their viral debut track Ecstasy (33), as Troye Sivan lands a second place in this week’s Top 40 with Got Me Started, up 12 (34) to become his sixth Top 40 single to date. Production duo Jungle also gain their landmark first Top 40 single today with Back On 74 (36). To date, Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom MacFarland have racked up four UK Top 10 albums.

Finally, 163Margs and Digga D debut at Number 38 with their collab Hide And Seek. It becomes the first Top 40 hit for rising viral rapper 163Margs and Digga D’s 13th.

'Strangers' is really closing in on 'Paint The Town Red' fast. If it keeps up its Spotify dominance, then I could definitely see it reaching #1 later in the month!

Congratulations to Tate McRae on matching her career peak with 'Greedy'. :)
