Who's heard Rihanna's song Needed Me (number 47) yet? It's driving me mad.

Gents, i know it is partially offtopic, but on the other hand, not! ( i WRITE FROM AN EU COUNTRY GUYS!)

I was always a fan of the UK music and charts. From the 90s when you have 3-4 new entries in the charts and it has been also good when the ITUNES chart was included. The chart was exciting and there were many fine new music in the charts.

But since you have added the streaming it is very boring !
And i see that this bad thinking and craziness seems to be true for most of your country in overall, as i realized that you nationally thinking people jump out of the EU and on the other hand this stupidity, old fasioned thinking is true for your UK charts..

So this seems to be not connected, but on the other hand also the charts and your BRexit shows how your whole country is going downhill because of the bad thinking.

And if you are not ready to think good, positive, your whole country, economy will fail and you will stuck in your old fashioned, rainy little island.

Sorry if i hurt somebody's feeling but this is my true opinion and the way the charts goes nowdays and your BREXIT seems to be connected as in the old times when i thought of UK, i have seen a country that is ready for challange, econimic race, but now i only see boring charts, worse and worse taste of music and more and more boring charts and also the econimical fall is following if you dont change.

It is the same topic each week, what should happen is both charts should be listed or read out (Ie the official sales one and the official with streaming) and when it comes to updating Wikipedia discography and the artist page on this site, Justin timberlake should be credited with a no1 pure and simple as he reached it in the official sales chart. This should happen for all artists and the highest peak position they reach in either of the charts is credited. The only fair way as they are both the mainstream charts and not classical or a dance specialist chart.

The main chart is the Singles chart. If you want to list its Sales chart peak *as well* on Wikipedia, I guess it's acceptable, but going with one peak that's just the highest on either chart significantly muddies the data.

If you think our charts are bad Synthesiza check out the U.S. Top 10. Exactly the same Top 7 as last week with 2 of the songs been in the chart 20 weeks, 1 @ 16 weeks, 1 @ 15 weeks and 1 @ 14 weeks. Boring or what!

The US charts more. Work #1 for like 10 weeks? FRICKING lol

The US one more? Whatever. At least on the US chart it actually shows what's being played on the radio and sales among other things not just stupid streaming making up the majority of what counts. JT debuted at number 1 on Billboard like he should've on the Official charts but of course he didn't when streaming monopolizes this chart. JT was 6000 in sales ahead of Drake the week CSTF debuted and was on course to getting a number 1 on Wednesday and by that Friday Drake was number 1 again. That's dumb as , no way is Billboard worse than this chart.

Hey all you young people that use this internerd, Rick 'the slick' Astley has a new album out this week. It's called 50. Go buy it! It's pretty good and RA is the best male singer like ever! He's never gonna give you up. :)

Here are my thoughts on the UK charts this week:
- Congratulations to Drake for a 9th consecutive week at #1 with 'One Dance'. As much as I love this song, it's starting to get boring seeing less change in the singles chart at the moment. It also means that Calvin & Rihanna's 'This Is What You Came For' & JT's 'Can't Stop The Feeling' have been blocked from #1 when they actually deserved to be there. I'm still really pleased for Drake but I wasn't expecting him to get quite this long at the top.
- Elsewhere it's good to see 'This Girl' climbing again this week (10-4). Also great for Shawn Mendes, DJ Khaled ft Drake & Ariana Grande to get new entries in the Top 40 as well.
- I'm seeing a lot of the usual comments about how streaming is disliked so much. I'll say this: streaming should have slightly less of a contribution to make the charts a bit more exciting. I don't think it should be completely removed because this is how more music fans are listening to songs these days. Hence if streaming didn't count towards the charts it would be less representative of overall musical popularity.

That is why they have seperate charts like i have mentioned below. There is nothing wrong with this chart if you want everything included, just don't make it the principal chart, The Slaes Chart should hold that postion like it always used to. The UK charts used to be respected as it stood for was what the general public were buying while in other countries e.g U.S.A. radio play counted for a certain percentage of what made up the charts. Rant over

But now, hardly anyone is 'buying' - even downloads, and physical to all intents and purposes is extinct. A sales-only chart is virtually irrelevent and doesn't represent the popular songs or the method of music consumption.

If CSTF were given the most streaming and were to stay at number 1 for over 5 weeks, I actually wouldn't mind because It really is a good song that deserves the extra success, unlike giving it all to a song like One Dance which is a serious waste since I don't listen to or even like/care about that song.

Take away the stream plays and Drake would be off the top. The chart should be sales only.

Streams represent significant revenue for artists and labels; it's regressive to ignore them in a revenue-based song chart. Just be happy you have a raw sales metric chart to refer to.

Now that streaming is a fact of life when this chart is put together so can anyone tell me the places where poeole stream music and it´s counted for? I know Spotify is one, Apple music is one. But what other streaming places are counted for? YouTube does´t count I know. Hope my question was understandable! Pekka from Finland

There's a turn up for the books.....not a single football anthem in the charts the WEEK a major football tournament kicks off. Has this ever happened before in top 100 singles chart history?

Hardly ever get any football songs these days. But seeing as you asked "3 Lions" is No.80 in the sales chart

If you look in the sales chart (i.e. the proper chart) you will find that Drake is only at No.6 and Justin Timberlake as been at the peak for the last 3 weeks at least

Your pseudo-intellectual patronising attitude isn't welcome. 'kids no nothin about music' If you criticise those who listen to the music on the charts so much then why do you comment religiously on every chart release? Someone needs a hobby. You can say kids know nothing about music but you don't seem to know anything about music or grammar.

Ouch at that drop for "No Money". Hopefully it can recover, though at least it's had a good top 10 run. I suspect "This Girl" could be in the running for either a US song of the summer (like Cheerleader) or a late fall bloomer (like Rather Be or Ghost).
