It's the most wonderful time of the year, as some of the world's most iconic musicians find themselves going head-to-head with puppets, a pussycat from Stevenage and a pair with a penchant for pork for the most coveted chart-topper of the year.

Yep, the race for 2023's Official Christmas Number 1 single begins on Friday December 15; and this year's bunch of contenders are perhaps the most diverse yet.

All week, we're highlighting some of 2023's biggest challengers; from the renowned to the really-rather-ridiculous. Today's contenders? A collective of the UK's biggest TikTok stars taking on Wizzard's 1973 hit I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday in aid of The Trussell Trust.

With producer Jamie Sellers at its helm (he's the chap behind LadBaby's three most recent Christmas Number 1 singles Food Aid (2022), Sausage Rolls for Everyone (ft. Ed Sheeran and Elton John) (2021) and Don't Stop Me Eatin' (2020), Creator Universe's all-new cover version of I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday sees 30 of the country's most influential content creators unite for the first time in the name of charity.

Released on December 15, 100 per cent of profits raised from I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday will be donated to The Trussell Trust, supporting the busiest winter ever at UK food banks, with more than 600,000 people being supported and a food parcel being distributed every eight seconds.

Last month, Official Charts popped along to Creator Universe's recording session at London's iconic Abbey Road Studios to get all the tea on their Christmas Number 1 bid.

The Famileigh

How does it feel to be proper, bona fide pop stars now?

Travis: "It feels really good, I've had to tell all my friends to delete my number!"

Dad (Paul): "It's awesome being in such an iconic studio the likes of The Beatles and Adele have worked in. All these amazing pop artists."

Harrison: "We've done Abbey Road Studios now, I think the next thing will be Wembley. If we can sing this song at Wembley, that's it. Maybe a world tour?"

Travis: "We're going to get the Christmas Number 1!"

How will you celebrate if you manage to get it?

Dad: "I'd have a party, and just have our version of I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday on repeat."

Why is it so important to you to support The Trussell Trust this Christmas?

Harrison: "All the profits go towards The Trussell Trust, who we've been working with for a few years now. We've been donating to our local Trussell Trust food bank, as well as helping out at our old secondary school, getting all the students involved. It's a really important charity, especially at times like this."
