The 1975 land at Number 1 on the latest Official Trending Chart as they head for potentially their first Top 10 single with If You’re Too Shy (Let Me Know) this week.

The song and video were released on Friday as the band’s dancers, Taitlyn and Kaylee Jaiy, AKA The Jaiy Twins, released the official choreography for the song (performed on The 1975’s most recent tour) and launched a new TikTok dance challenge to get fans joining in.

If The 1975 can hold on to their place in the Top 10 - currently at Number 9 in the Official Singles Chart midweeks - it’ll be the band’s highest-charting song yet. Their previous Official Singles Chart peak was in 2016 when The Sound reached Number 15. View The 1975's Official Chart history in full here.

Too Shy is the sixth single to be released from Notes On A Conditional Form which, after a series of setbacks, will be released on May 22.

The rest of this week's Official Trending Chart is brimming with new entries; including Houdini by KSI ft. Swarmz & Tion Wayne, and the self-titled first single from The Scotts – a brand-new pairing of Travis Scott and Kid Cudi (whose real first name is, well, Scott). Juice Wrld’s first posthumous single Righteous is also making waves this week, and is set to be his fifth Top 40 song.

Sad banger Don’t Need Love by 220 Kid & Gracey is growing in the UK, and could make its Top 40 debut this week – currently up 13 places on the mid-week sales flash, as Young T & Bugsey’s Don’t Rush ft. Headie One rebounds back up the Top 100, thanks to a social media trend set to the song featuring users undergoing makeovers.

Further big trending tunes come from Kygo, Zara Larsson & Tyga with Like It Is, the return of DJ Regard with Secrets, a collaboration with Raye, and the dreamy ILY by 19-year-old LA producer Surf Mesa ft. Emilee.
