Madonna releases Frozen Sickick remix featuring Fireboy DML: Listen to the remixed UK Number 1 hit now
Madonna has finally released a new version of Frozen; remixed by Sickick and featuring Afronbeats legend Fireboy DML.
The track came about as the original remix of the song by producer Sickick went viral on TikTok. Never one to let a promotional opportunity pass her by, Madge then officially jumped on the track, bringing Fireboy DML with her.
As it stands, the track counts as the first official release from Madonna's planned re-release of her entire back catalogue since re-signing with original label Warner last year.
The song morphs from Madonna's ice-cold, electronica-influenced vocals, shifting into something of trap beat for Fireboy DML's verse. It's an interesting exchange for all three artists; the cultural cachet Fireboy and Sickick will recieve from collaborating with Madonna is undeniable, while the Queen of Pop once again proves she's willing to rip up the rulebook of her own hitmaking legacy to keep one foot in the mainstream.

A Number 1 hit in 1998, the original Frozen is perhaps best known for its cinematic music video, where a gothic Madonna is in the desert, before transforming into a flock of black birds and a hound. It was written by Madonna and frequent collaborator Patrick Leonard and co-produced by William Orbit, who helped influence the electronica style of Frozen's parent album, Ray Of Light.
One of the most influential and successful pop artists of all time, Madonna this year celebrates 40 years since the release of her landmark debut album - not only will she release deluxe editions of all her previous records, she is also co-writing and directing the biopic of her life, with auditions currently underway for the lead role.
Chart-wise, Madonna has both the most Number 1 singles for any female act on the Official Charts, with a total of 13. Only Cliff Richard and Westlife (14), The Beatles (17) and Elvis (21) have more. Madonna is also the female solo act with the most UK Number 1 albums in UK chart history, with 12 in total.

This track has exploded on tiktok and has really struck a chord with gen z. If it connects with a younger generation in this guise then who cares. Her music always did transcend age and culture, this is nothing new. I dont particularly like it, but my 15 year old niece loves it and now knows who Madonna is, I caught her singing to Like A Virgin 2 days later and watching youtube clips of her on tour in 2001. She thought she was incredible. This is how you evolve and capture the next generation, not by pumping out the same generic, manufactured rubbish like Kylie etc.

This remix is cool but being so short makes me wonder if she is going to release a Remix Album that is non-stop and only have around 2 minutes songs so that it can fit as much hits as possible (even 2 minutes wouldn't be short enough to fit all her 63 TOP 10 Hits remixed in just 1 CD). I'm really hopping the video for this remix is cool enough to be played as the original "Frozen" video is so iconic that it will certainly be hard to compete.
