Katy Perry and Gavin James are on course to land big new entries on this week's Official Irish Singles Chart.

Katy's latest single Daisies opens at Number 19 on today's Official Charts Company sales flash (May 18), which accumulates downloads and streams from the weekend.

Katy gave a special at-home performance of Daisies for Amazon Music last Friday, while her rendition on last night's American Idol finale has been the talk of social media for its use of cutting-edge technology.

If Daisies' momentum continues and it can secure a place in Friday's Top 50, it will become Katy's landmark 30th Top 50 single in Ireland. In 2019, Katy scored five Top 50 hits: 365 (with Zedd), Never Really Over, Small Talk, Con Calma (with Daddy Yankee) and Harleys in Hawaii.

More new entries are expected in this week's Top 50. Kygo and OneRepublic's new collaboration Lose Somebody is currently at Number 25, while Dubliner Gavin James could secure his third Top 50 entry with Boxes, which is at Number 30 at the halfway point of the week.

This week's final Official Irish Singles and Albums Charts will be published on OfficialCharts.com/Ireland at 3pm on Friday. Listen to the chart every Friday on RTÉ 2FM with Bláthnaid Treacy at 7pm.
