Bieber Hits Chart Analys as February 2022:

7 #01 Hits - (3 as solo artist + 1 as lead or co-lead artist + 3 featuring artist)
27 TOP 10 Hits - (7 as solo artist / 6 as co-lead / 14 as featuring artist)

All his 3 songs that peaked at #01 as Solo artist were in 2015.
During the past 6 years he had 4 TOP 10 Hits as solo artist (3 of them were TOP 5 Hits but none was TOP 3)

A total of 57 TOP 40 Hits (22 of them SOLO) and 72 TOP 75 chart entries (exaclty as much TOP 75 chart entries as Madonna but from her 72 chart entries 63 were TOP 10 hits and almost all ot them - 61 - as solo artist)

Is it just me or Justin Bieber is VERY dependent on collaborations to do very well on the charts?

Would he even be TOP 40 of all time when we do an All TIme UK Chart (where usually points of each song with collabs are split by the differen song credited artists - and lead artists get more points). I hardly doubt he would make it to TOP 40.

Justin Bieber has 15 singles in the top 100. Surely some kind of rules or control needs to be altered to the chart. I've noticed since downloading has almost completely took over physical sales of singles, lots of the older artists don't even have hit singles anymore. For example cd singles are almost as extinct as the dinosaurs. But this isn't fair to me, and the top 100 singles charts are so bland its ridiculous. I just hope downloading doesn't have the same affect on the album charts, or we wouldn't see any artists over the age of 25 have hit albums anymore either. It simply wouldn't be worth them being musicians. Something needs to spark a comeback of the physical single, just like vinyl is making a comeback now. Bring back the 7inch vinyl single at a reasonable price I say. Then you'd see loads of artists like Rod Stewart, Status Quo, Pet Shop Boys, even Madonna, back in the top 40, and bring back the diversity we once had.

I agree and have done for some years. The charts will still great in the mid naughties and featured Top 20 singles from Bananarama, Gary Numan, Madonna, Erasure, Pet shop boys, Iron maiden and many more. 17 singles looking above is actually what JB had at the same time in the top 91. That's one in 5 songs and JB in the top 91. Most acts can't even have a top 91 single nowadays including Madonna! Most of these JB tracks are just album tracks not even singles to begin with! The chart is a joke and a mockery to say he's beating all records in a joke. Easily done with publicity and downloading tracks from albums. Feel sorry for the remaining Beatles seeing all there chart records disappear

Nah... don't feel sorry for the Fab 4 as there is so much more to The Beatles. Their music changed things in so many ways, its incredible, which is cemented into music history. They cannot be touch in so many, many ways:)

i dont agree with you, those artists arent having hits because they arent doing hits anymore, even if the charts take more care about the cds artists like rod stewart and madonna arent going to comeback, if you listen the radio you arent going to find any new hit of rod stewart or madonna, we are in 2017, times have changed, people arent buying their singles and their albums like in 1980 or 1990, even if you go to a cd store you arent going to find rod, madonna, pet shop boys albums at the most selled albums list

Too many Album track getting into the SINGLES charts, if someone buys a album track it should count towards an album sale and not enter the singles charts.
For instance if there are 10 tracks on the album and someone PAYS for 1 of the tracks that's 1 10th of an album sale.
Leave the SINGLES chart for official SINGLE releases, the clue is in the name of the chart...SINGLES. lol

Today songs and album charts are very similar. Before there were "the singles artists" and "the albums artists" and only a very few that would do well in both charts. With Streaming all artist with a couple hits do pretty well also at the album charts due to streamings and track sales that count double for both charts. We are seeing a big decline on streaming artists once their huge peak as past. They sometimes do well on the week the song or album is out but have huge falls as on the album or song sales charts they sometimes even fail to chart TOP 10. Most of todays huge artist won't have staying power as they won't have sales to support them. Older artists don't have much radio support and their new songs aren't on streaming playlists (that are responsible for 80% of the streams and decide who charts or doesn't on singles charts today). Once the new artists new songs drop from streaming playlists they too disapear from the charts.

The age of the artists doesn't matter. Young or old artists - neither of them makes a lot of money by music since downloads are possible. Therefore they search for other business co-operations (fashion companies, commercial contracts etc.) to earn money.
