
DMX (born Earl Simmons on December 18, 1970 in Mount Vernon, New York) was an American rapper, songwriter and actor. In the 1990s he helped build the Ruff Ryders record label into a global powerhouse. DMX scored five Official UK Singles Chart Top 40 hits, the first of which was 1993’s Slippin’. In 2003, he claimed his biggest hit X Gon’ Give It To Ya, a Number 6 song that was part of the XXX movie soundtrack.
