Errol Brown was a British-Jamaican singer and songwriter, who was born in Kingston, Jamaica, on November 12, 1943 but moved to the UK when he was twelve years old. Errol Brown made his recording debut in 1969 with the Hot Chocolate Band and a cover of John Lennon’s Give Peace A Chance, and once they edited their name, went on to be one of the biggest acts of the 1970s and early 1980s with songs such as Put Your Love In Me, Man To Man, You Sexy Thing, Emma and the UK Official Singles Chart Number 1 So You Win Again in 1977. Errol Brown left Hot Chocolate in 1985, becoming a solo turn in 1987, and received an MBE in 2003 for services to popular music for the United Kingdom. Errol Brown died from liver cancer at his home in the Bahamas on May 6, 2015.
