Travis are a Scottish rock band and were formed in 1990 in Glasgow settling into their familiar quartet line-up of singer Francis ‘Fran’ Healy (born in Stafford, July 23, 1973), bassist Douglas ‘Dougie’ Payne Jr (born in Glasgow, November 14, 1972), guitarist Andy Dunlop (born in Lenzie, Scotland March 16, 1972) and drummer Neil Primrose (born in Cumbernauld, Scotland February 20, 1972). After relocating to London in the late nineties, the band toured with Oasis, and released their debut album Good Feeling. Breaking through in 1999 with the follow-up The Man Who, the band’s fortunes improved considerably and after a slow burn, the album spent 11 weeks at Number 1, sold over 2.6 million copies and won Best Album at the 2000 BRIT Awards as well as Best British Group, an award they’d also win again in 2002.
