PRINCE

Prince Rogers Nelson, the multi-talented Minneapolis-born singer/songwriter/musician/producer made his big UK chart breakthrough with the Purple Rain OST and a string of Top 10 singles in 1984. The music icon passed away in April 2016 and a selection of his hit singles and albums re-charted following the news.

You've left off "Betcha By Golly Wow", "The Holy River" and "The Greatest Romance Ever Sold" which also charted and I think he released those under the name of The Artist.

I cant believe Prince only had one number 1 hit in the UK. Shows there was not much taste in good music back then, not that it has improved much these days.

The Itv network chart Prince had at least 3 number 1 's and would've been 4 but Warners didn't press enough Batdance copies.

Its "I Would Die 4 U", surely Gallup never made this mistake???

It did flop in the UK shockingly and sadly yes. The live video wasn't much cop i thought.
