Holy Chewbacca! Star Wars: The Force Awakens is in a galaxy all of its own in today's Official Video Chart Update.

Outselling the rest of the Top 200 combined, the seventh movie in the Star Wars saga has shifted 794,000 copies at the midweek stage and is on course to be the fastest-selling DVD/Blu-ray release of the year. The current fastest-selling is Spectre, which sold 987,000 units. It had achieved 576,000 sales at the half-way mark, indicating that Star Wars will eclipse Bond's best efforts.

The Force Awakens' sales have already outperformed the first week figures of the last two Star Wars films, and are close to bettering Star Wars: Episode 1. Star Wars: Episode 3 - Revenge of the Sith sold 654,000 copies in week one, while Episode 2: Attack of the Clones was purchased 522,000 times. If Episode VII can keep its momentum, it will exceed The Phantom Menace's first week tally of 915,000.

The rest of the Top 5 is as follows: last week's Number 1 The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part II drops to 2, and The Good Dinosaur falls one place to 3. The Lady in the Van is poised to hold at 4 and Game of Thrones: Complete Fifth Season could rise one place to 5 in anticipation of the new series.

New Entries and High Climbers

The fastest-selling fitness DVD release of all-time from Charlotte Crosby - Charlotte's 3 Minute Belly Blitz rises 19 places to 12, closely followed at 16 by a new entry in Grantchester - Series 2. Surpassing Charlotte in the high rising stakes, two Star Wars releases also look to catapult up the chart. Star Wars - Trilogy is up 63 places to 18, and Star Wars - Prequel Trilogy rockets 80 places to 28. Sandwiched between those spacey entries is The Survivalist, new at 21.

Prisoner of War is set to debut at 31, Lego Star Wars - Droid Tales - Volume 1 is new at 34 and Pretty Little Liars - Complete Season 6 lands at 39.
