The first single from the album will be released this Friday, August 21. The track, titled Save the Day, is a collaboration with Lauryn Hill.

Mariah announced the news on Twitter, revealing the album's black and white artwork.

“This one is for you, my fans,” she said. “It’s to celebrate us, and to thank you for years of pure love and support. I am so grateful to you.”

The album announcement follows on from Carey’s recent sharing of rare archival material to celebrate her 30 years in music, under the hashtag #MC30.

Ahead of The Rarities' release, Mariah is releasing her highly anticipated memoir, The Meaning Of Mariah Carey, on September 29.

OMG!! So looking forward to it!! MARIAH, the legend, the queen!! Still don't understand the reason why she no longer sells that many records even though she is still as talented as she was 30 years ago!!

Simply she doesn't need to be on the spot right now. She's more relaxed.
