The Danish band’s global smash 7 Years is currently leading this week’s Official Chart Update, but Rihanna’s Work is just 8,000 combined sales behind today, boosted by her performance at last week’s BRIT Awards. Can she keep up the momentum and go all the way by Friday?
Another act also enjoying a post-BRITs uplift are Coldplay; their Beyonce collaboration Hymn For The Weekend is up another seven places to Number 3.
Rounding off today’s Update Top 5 are Jonas Blue & Dakota’s Fast Car (4) and Mike Posner’s I Took A Pill In Ibiza, which looks set to enter this week’s Top 10 after jumping six places to Number 5.
New entries and high climbers
Adele’s When We Were Young continues its ascent up the Top 40, up five places today to Number 8, and producer/DJ Riton zooms 69 places to Number 9 with his Kah-Lo collaboration Rinse & Repeat.
Tinie Tempah makes a strong start with his brand new track Girls Like Me ft. Zara Larsson at Number 15, Fifth Harmony are on course for a third Top 40 hit with Work From Home (23) and The Sound by The 1975 rebounds from 39 to 24 following the release of their new album.
Further down the chart, Zayn’s new single It’s You starts at 32, and Jess Glynne’s latest track Ain’t Got Far To Go looks set to enter the Top 40, currently at 37.
