
Jesy Nelson (born Jessica Louise Nelson June 14, 1991) is an English pop singer. Coming up as a contestant in The X Factor UK in 2011, Nelson auditioned as a solo artist, before being placed into girl group Little Mix (initially Rythmix) alongside Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall. On December 14 2020, Nelson announced she was officially leaving Little Mix due to mental health issues, a few weeks later the group's single Sweet Melody became their fifth UK Number 1. In 2021, Nelson signed a record deal with Polydor (UK) and Republic Records (US). Her debut solo single Boyz featuring Nicki Minaj debuted and peaked at Number 4 on the Official Singles Chart.
