Lil Tjay (born Tione Jayden Merritt on April 30, 2001) and 6LACK pronounced 'black' (born Ricardo Valdez Valentine Jr on June 24, 1992) collaborated in February 2021 on Calling My Phone, a Number 2 hit on the UK's Official Singles Chart. First teased in December 2020 on TikTok and Twitter two months before its release, Calling My Phone was released just in time for Valentine's Day on February 12, its lyrics about an ex that won't stop contacting Lil Tjay and 6LACK. The song contains a sample of YoungBoy Never Broke Again's song How I Been.
