HAIRCUT 100

Haircut One Hundred were a British new wave/funk group formed in 1980 in Beckenham, London by lead vocalist and guitarist Nick Heyward (born May 20, 1961 in Beckenham, Kent), guitarist Graham Jones (born July 8, 1961 in Bridlington, East Yorkshire) and bassist Les Nemes (born December 5, 1960 in Croydon, Surrey). By the time of recording their debut album Pelican West, Haircut 100 had been augmented by saxophonist Phil Smith (born May 1, 1959, in Redbridge, Essex), percussionist Marc Fox (born February 13, 1958) and drummer Blair Cunningham (born October 11, 1957 in Memphis, Tennessee). Haircut 100 side-parted when Nick Heyward left the band to go solo during sessions for the follow-up album in January 1983, and Marc Fox took over vocals. Haircut 100 MK II carried on for another couple of years before splitting. Haircut 100 reformed with Heyward in 2004 and have played occasional shows ever since.
