The Official best-selling vinyl albums and singles of 2024 so far

The official biggest sellers on wax of the year so far come from Liam Gallagher & John Squire, Ariana Grande and Charli XCX.

Liam Gallagher and John Squire have both the best-selling vinyl album and single of 2024 so far, Official Charts confirms today.

The eponymous debut album by the duo - which recently hit Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart - has sold over 21,000 copies on wax since its release in the beginning of March. In its first week, Liam Gallagher & John Squire topped the Official Vinyl Albums Chart, with 45% of its total made up of vinyl sales.

It became the 14th overall UK Number 1 album for Liam (his sixth as a solo artist) and the first-ever chart-topping LP for John Squire, who notched up four Top 10 and eight Top 40 albums as a member of The Stone Roses.

Coming in second place are buzzy art-rock five piece The Last Dinner Party, with their debut album Prelude To Ecstasy. Another UK chart-topper, Prelude To Ecstasy claimed the biggest opening week for a debut album by a band since 2015, and has to date sold nearly 20,000 vinyl copies.

This caps off a year of extraordinary rise for Abigail Morris, Lizzie Mayland, Emily Roberts, Georgia Davies and Aurora Nishevci, who won this year's BRITs Rising Star award and also secured their first UK Top 20 single with Nothing Matters.

Completing the Top 5 we also have IDLES' chart-topping fifth studio album TANGK (3) and The Smile's Wall of Eyes (5), which became the highest-charting record for the Radiohead spin-off group, peaking at Number 3 in the UK.

Further chart-toppers from this year to make the Top 10 include Noah Kahan's Stick Season (7), the Official biggest album overall of 2024 so far and Ariana Grande's eternal sunshine (9).

Further down, we have The Snuts' Millennials (18), Declan McKenna's What Happened To The Beach? (19), Elbow's chart-topping Audio Vertigo (20) and The Vaccines' Pick-Up Full of Pink Carnations (21).

Biggest vinyl singles of 2024 so far

Liam Gallagher & John Squire's Just Another Rainbow is the best-selling vinyl single of 2024 so far.

The lead single from the duo's self-titled first album together, Just Another Rainbow peaked at Number 16 on the Official Singles Chart, becoming Liam's highest-charting single as a solo artist in the UK.

Bringing up the rear is the biggest single overall of 2024, Noah Kahan's mighty Stick Season at Number 2, followed by Ariana Grande at Number 3 with yes, and?

Dua Lipa completes the Top 5 with two back-to-back entries Houdini and Training Season at Numbers 4 and 5 respectively.

Completing the Top 10 we also have The Last Dinner Party's Nothing Matters (7), Catfish & The Bottlemen's big comeback single Showtime (9) and Sophie Ellis-Bextor's Murder on the Dancefloor (10).
