The Verve announce 20th anniversary editions of landmark album Urban Hymns

The Verve are releasing deluxe editions of their 1997 Urban Hymns to mark its 20th anniversary.

The re-release of the landmark album will arrive on September 21 and come in four different formats: a standard remastered CD, a deluxe two-disc CD version, a super deluxe 5 disc CD  plus bonus DVD box set and a triple LP box set.

The deluxe versions will all feature accompanying b-sides and three hours of previously unreleased live material, including their 1998 hometown show in front of around 35,000 fans at Haigh Hall, Wigan.

The remastering and mixing work has been put together by the album's original co-producer Chris Potter and Metropolis’ Tony Cousins.

Also featured in the release is new interviews with the band and previously unseen photos by Chris Floyd, who travelled with The Verve on their US tour in 1994 and followed them during the making of Urban Hymns.

The accompanying DVD includes a documentary titled The Video 96-98, previously only available on VHS.

Those with their eye on the super-deluxe release will also get a 56-page hard cover book as well as a poster and 5 postcards.

Urban Hymns is The Verve's third studio album and was met with widespread acclaim upon its release in September 1997. The record is one of the UK's best-selling of all time, having shifted 3.2 million copies to date.
