The queen mother of drag, Rupaul, could be back in the Official Chart this week following last week's tense and somewhat controversial finale of Rupaul's Drag Race All Stars 3.

Sales and streams of the drag superstar's track Kitty Girl are up 1160% following its use in the final, which saw Shangela, Trixie Mattel, Kennedy Davenport and Bebe Zaha Benet fight it out for a spot in the show's hall of fame.

A remix of the song featuring the contestants' newly-written verses, which were lip-synced in a live, one-take performance, was released after the final aired in the UK on March 16.

Kitty Girl sneaks into today's Official Singles Chart Update at Number 99. If it holds its spot or continues to climb, it'll be Rupaul's first UK chart entry in 20 years, since his collaboration with The Weather Girls' Martha Wash on It's Raining Men... The Sequel, which reached Number 21. See where all of Rupaul's singles have charted in the UK here.

Rupaul has made it into the Official Singles Chart Top 100 on six occasions, bursting into the Top 40 in 1993 with Supermodel (You Better Work).

It'll be good to have a novelty song back in the charts! The charts have been devoid of comedy tracks since the use of YouTube and streaming. I miss the days of The Wurzels, The Simpsons and various comedians having a crack at the Top 40!

Who could ever forget his other top 40 hit 'Back To My Roots'? Such a catchy piece!

Fantastic news, Rupaul's music is highly underrated and will be so pleased for him! Fingers crossed!
