Psy is set to release Gentleman, the long-awaited follow-up to Gangnam Style, in his native South Korea next week.

Gangnam Style rapper Psy has announced that the follow-up to his world-wide mega hit will be released next week.

The track, which is currently titled Gentleman, will be available for digital download in his native South Korea next Friday (April 12). The track will be released in the UK shortly afterwards. Gentleman was originally titled Assarabia – which is a Korean slang term meaning ‘thrills’ – however Psy decided to change it last month to avoid accidentally offending his Arabic fans.

Psy has said he will perform Gentleman live – complete with a new dance routine which is said to rival Gangnam Style’s infamous invisible horse – the following day in his homeland. The rapper has asked fans in attendance to wear white, adding that he will be performing the track in a space suit and wedding dress!

"The new song is extremely fun and what I can tell you is the song title is Gentleman," Psy told a South Korean TV station. "I can't tell you about the dance but all Koreans know this dance - but in other countries haven't seen it!"

Gangnam Style, which is just one of 130 singles to sell over a million copies in the 60+ year history of the UK’s Official Singles Chart, topped the singles charts in 27 countries, including the UK. Gangnam Style finally left the Top 40 on Sunday (March 31) after a staggering 28 week run.
