Drake’s new single Toosie Slide is off to a strong start on this week's Official Singles Chart and is on course to claim the highest new entry, currently at Number 3 on the Official Chart First Look.

While the track looks set to become Drake's 19th UK Top 10, Toosie Slide is also challenging The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights for this week's Number 1.

Meanwhile, Matt Lucas’s Thank You Baked Potato – a viral hit he has now released for charity – starts at Number 5. Money raised from the single, available to download for 99p, goes to Feed NHS, which aims to get hot meals to NHS staff and critical care workers across the country during the coronavirus crisis.

The charity was set up by Matt along with Damien Lewis and Helen McCrory - read our interview with Matt about how Thank You Baked Potato is helping feed NHS workers.

Powfu’s Death Bead ft. Beabadoobee – the latest viral hit from TikTok - is challenging for this week’s Top 10, currently up three places to Number 11.

Following the death of soul legend Bill Withers on Friday, three of his classic tracks could re-enter this week’s Official Singles Chart: Lean On Me is at 16, Ain’t No Sunshine is at 18, and Lovely Day is at 26.

I can't wait for the chart update today. Especially the album chart, because I want to see if Dua Lipa gets the top spot this week. :)

Dame Vera Lynn's - 'We'll Meet Again' could see a possible chart place this week following the Queen's address to the nation on Sunday whereby she name dropped the iconic WW2 song.

Good seeing boyfriend climbing! Blueberry faygo and rain falling just as I’m starting to get into them I don’t like seeing :(

Yeah, it's typical that a song starts falling off the chart as soon as you're getting into it! :P

ALWAYS happens!
And when there’s a song u really wanna hit the top 10 it just don’t happen. I remember last year turn me on was at 12 by Riton and meduza lose control was at 11 and I was so desperate for either one of those to hit the top 10. After that they both started falling😂

Ah, yeah, it was so frustrating for us dance fans last year, haha! :D

For example, I remember seeing 'Giant' & 'Piece Of Your Heart' get really close, but both stalled at #2.

I remember that. Piece of your heart is probs the biggest dance songs in recent years to not reach number 1! It was horrible!

Oh well, at least 'Roses' make it in 2020 & yes, I am counting that as an EDM song, since it's the Imanbek remix that made it so popular! :P

I’ll agree with you there don’t worry :)

It's shaping up to be a good week overall! :)

I love 'Blinding Lights' on course to lead for a seventh week, along with 'Toosie Slide' (probably Drake's best song since 'In My Feelings') & 'Thank You Baked Potato' (a hilarious quarantine song) both heading for the Top 5.

Despite the sad reason for it happening, I also appreciate seeing two classics from Bill Withers here too. RIP!

Very interesting to see that especially i like seeing Mabel being one of the biggest pop stars in UK After Dua Lipa
Shes working very hard

Yeah, it's good to see 'Boyfriend' still climbing inside the Top 10! :)

I'm also very happy that 'Death Bed' could be up there on Friday too.

I'm surprised neither Ava Max's nor Rita Ora's new singles have made the Top 40 yet!

So much for that Drake hype, glad that "Blinding Lights" still could be #1, never heard both "Thank You Baked Potato" and yes, I haven't heard "Toosie Slide" yet.
Also glad to see two Bill Withers classic here too. RIP Bill.

it's so confusing to understand especially How to be lonely i don't know what's happening that's a good song and Kings And Queens

'Toosie Slide' as Drake's best song? Haha, no. That song is even lazier than 'In My Feelings'. Drake knows that whatever he puts out will become a hit, so he doesn't even try anymore. Plus, Drake cannot sing. Period.

Piran did only say Drakes best song since 'In My Feelings' and that was only 2 years ago..
I agree Drakes had plenty of better songs but this is still a fun song and nothing super serious or anything.

Piran

While I hate 'Yummy' being so high up, I adore 'Blinding Lights' at #1 & especially 'Lover' still inside the Top 10! :D

avatar

Piran

I never said it was Drake's best song, I just said it was my favourite of his as a lead artist since 'In My Feelings'! In my opinion, he's always been at his best when his vocals are smooth, the lyrics are laid-back & the production is gentle, all of which seem to occur here & in 'In My Feelings'. 'Passionfruit' is another good example of this!

Examples of where they didn't happen & the songs underwhelmed include 'One Dance' or especially 'Fake Love'.

avatar

Piran

I do think both will rise over the next few weeks! Both have potential to be massive on pop radio. :)

I actually like Drake's new single, contrary to many people's opinion, haha! :D

'Thank You Baked Potato' is hilarious & I agree that 'Blinding Lights' remaining at the top is good news.

it has been a slow hit Lover spent a quiet time climbing. As for Yummy since its debut in January hasn't dropped out of top 10 but has failed to reach number 1 .As for Blinding Lights it's been blocking 4 weeks consecutively I'm scared of Roses! ;Stupid Love, they big contenders .Elaine You're The One our local song to become number 1 Its been long we haven't heard a number 1

avatar

Piran

1

I could see 'Roses' easily getting #1 in SA, given the momentum the remix is giving it everywhere right now!

That being said, as I love international culture, it would be amazing to see 'You're The One' top the chart there. :)

Brandon Mwinga

We need it definitely there I'm glad she dropped the video this week of You're The One the chances she still have because the weekend has fallen on ITUNES and other streaming platforms

avatar

Piran

That was well timed! Does the chart update every Saturday then? :)
