The latest single from former X Factor finalist is about virtual dating during the lockdown.

For anyone single and looking, the past year has been, well, trying, to say the least.

Someone who knows this all too well is Grace Davies, whose latest track i met a boy online was created last year during the first lockdown, when those still keen to mingle were forced to do so - awkwardly, in most cases - virtually.

Co-written and produced by Sophie 'Frances' Cooke (whose credits include Dua Lipa, Katy Perry and Maisie Peters), this new live session of i met a boy online premiered below strips down its piano-led production even further, exposing the anxieties of what might happen when a virtual date leads to real-life meetups.

“I wrote this song during lockdown 1.0 when everyone was adjusting to this new way of virtually dating," Grace tells OfficialCharts.com. "We all get first date nerves, but I personally felt an added amount of pressure when thinking about meeting someone for the first time, after months of being stuck inside with nothing but FaceTime calls.

"This one is for all my self-doubters out there, I feel you! I’ve been missing performing on stage so much this year, so I wanted to create my own mini stage in my living room for this video. A couple of projectors, some lights and neon crayon on my piano - because why not? Chris Martin would be proud!”

After coming second on The X Factor in 2017, last year saw Grace launch her music career with her debut EP Friends With The Tragic, a four-track collection that draws inspirations from the likes of Robyn, Carly Rae Jepsen and Birdy. I Met A Boy Online is the first taster of her second EP, due for release this year.
