Ed Sheeran has released his new single Bad Habits and unveiled its accompanying Dave Meyers-directed music video.

The uptempo, summer-tinged track was co-written and produced by Ed alongside longtime collaborators Johnny McDaid (Shape Of You) and FRED (No.6 Collaborations Project).

The music video shows Ed as his "alter-ego" vampire character, sporting bleached-white hair and fangs as he goes out for a wild night.

"Feels great to be back with my new single," Ed said. "I wanted the video for Bad Habits to play on the nature of habits in a fantastical way so I decided on vampires. It was mega fun getting into character except for the heights (that wasn’t so fun). Enjoy x”

Bad Habits follows last December's one-off release Afterglow, but marks his first official new music since 2019's No.6 Collaborations Project. The new single is expected to lead his new album, which Ed is currently recording. View Ed Sheeran's Official UK Chart history so far.

Nice pop song. Has anyone noticed the whole single marketing (colors, artwork, fonts) and styling's (suit, tie, his face under special effects makeup) similarity to The Weeknd's Blinding Lights?

Heard this song, and straight away noticed the backing music sound like one of the songs from 2006, September with Cry For You, gosh that took me back, the vocals is just like Will Young, blended to James Blunt ish, and the track myself (not Just the Video) is very halloween to this, it maybe on people list for Summer, which is fair play, but i can see why if there add this to Halloween Playlist This Year. for October to 31st October.
