UK Top Songs, Wednesday chart update

1 Ed Sheeran feat. Stormzy - Take Me Back To London (38,374)

2 Kygo & Whitney Houston - Higher Love (24,289)

3 AJ Tracey - Ladbroke Grove (23,240)

4 Dominic Fike - 3 Nights (22,901)

5 Ed Sheeran feat. Khalid - Beautiful People (22,745)

looks like it’s not Ed Sheeran's 'Beautiful People' Higher Love competition for no.2 spot...

Its still surprising and unbelievable to see Whitney's "Higher Love" within the top 5 which is dominated by four hiphop genre songs. Never would've imagined she'd be in top5 of UK singles charts like this..amazing

How ironic that Ed Sheeran and his label would pick this week to release remixes of Take me back to London'. He would do this when Whitney's "Higher Love" could've potential claimed a #1 UK this week..unbelievable! This feat would've been good for her and her iconic music legacy. I may likely be one eyed open and hesitant to want to look at the charts update this Friday.

I didn't expect Ed to get another number 1..Such a shame Whitney and Kygo are so close to be number 1 but i guess that won't happen!! Camilla dropping to number 12!! After Ed, we have to deal with the overrated Taylor Swift!! Her songs are really for teenager or young kids....

Really wanting Whitney's 'Higher Love' to hit #1. She's no longer here and this could be only chance getting another UK #1 song in 27 years!

It didn't occur to me that it has been 27 years already for Whitney, I forgot! Long overdue!
It's not right but it's ok.

Woah... never realised the 'Take Me Back To London' remixes had that much power. However, if any of them are frontloaded, Whitney could get her first #1 of the century in the next chart!

While I don't think those three Taylor Swift songs will chart as well by the end of the week, it's still incredible to see them here, since 'Lover' & 'Cruel Summer' would currently get perfect 10s from me. :)

Yeah I'm.pretty shocked to see take me back to London at the top here. I didnt think senorita was on acr this week either. I doubt whitney and kygo will be no.1 this week as it always has a big boost from sales to start the week and although streaming is strong I dont think it will have enough effect to push it beyond beautiful people just yet, maybe next week if beautiful people is on acr then.
Will certainly be an interesting chart come Friday and to see any effect on tomorrow's update too

Wow. So shocked to see the results like this. Looks like it's all change this week, which means I will definitely be listening this week. Senorita at 12 means ACR.Higher Love is also increasing on streams day by date, so whitney could easily get number 1, if not this week, then next week.

'Higher Love' music video will release Monday this week, could also help increase streams/sales of it throughout the week by Friday's new chart update. Hopeful willing 'Higher Love' could edge up at #2 over Ed's 'beautiful people'.

True, although 'Higher Love' has the slight disadvantage of YouTube streams counting for way less than most other popular streaming services do.

I do think 'Higher Love' will edge past 'Beautiful People' for #2, but probably not get the #1 over 'Take Me Back To London'. The latter set to be the second best-selling song of the week when you combine all the remixes, easily #1 on Spotify all weekend, while the version with Jaykae & Aitch made a big 48-35 jump on Apple Music today (with the original very stable at #6 there).

Yeah, this was the week that 'Senorita' got moved to ACR, while 'Beautiful People' goes there next week.

'Higher Love' did get a boost by the official video coming out today, but I think 'Take Me Back To London's remixes easily beat it on streaming this week. The former will hopefully get to the top the week after though!

Either way, Friday's chart should be a very interesting listen! :)

I'm not too sure there'll even be a chart update tonight, with today being a Bank Holiday.

That said, I agree that the 'Take Me Back To London' remixes combined will easily be bigger than 'Higher Love' in terms of streaming, even if the latter did get an official video today.

That said, 'Higher Love' is probably pushing past 'Beautiful People' for #2 in the main chart at least. The former is #1 on Apple Music, #1 on iTunes & #5 on iTunes, wbile the latter is #7 on Apple Music, #7 on iTunes & #4 on Spotify.

Earlier this month alot of people doubted Higher Love chart success reaching UK top 5 or even making top 10 and its now at #4 so far. She's likely to not even have another major hit song, and she's gone so this is a big moment for the ones who's really in the moment of her to claim a 5th UK #1 song. Her 1999 "My Love Is Your Love" was her last highest peaking UK song at #2!

ShunB I dont doubt the success that higher love is achieving but as stated above I dont think its streaming will be good enough 'yet' as explained, it's not a dig at the song in anyway just what I think will happen towards the end of the week looking at the facts

Unfortunately the curve ball is this out the box Ed Sheeran "London" remix released. Early predictions wouldve surely head "Higher" at #1, if not Ed's "London" hadn't sky rocketed so quick like that. But it is what it is with the update chart predictions

Ed's label want to milk as much as they can with his album and its singles. All these "London" remixes is the key. And its likely an 8th single from the album being released in next month or so to keep his album success further over the next months into 2020. And his tour already ranked close to $800 mill in gross.
