Despite Zedd and Hayley Williams leading the singles race midweek, Clean Bandit have since pulled it back to claim another week at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart – becoming the first UK act to spend four consecutive weeks at the top since Adele's Someone Like You in 2011.

It was looking like Clean Bandit’s reign could be over on Wednesday’s Official Chart Update, as new entry Stay The Night by Russian/German DJ and producer Zedd and Paramore’s Hayley Williams looked set to be the one to topple Rather Be FT Jess Glynne from its throne. However, the London-based quartet powered through the latter half of the week to turn the tables and snatch a fourth week at the top, ending the race 8,000 copies ahead of Stay The Night (2). This fourth week at Number 1 means that Clean Bandit are the first UK act to top the Official Singles Chart for four consecutive weeks since Adele's Someone Like You reigned supreme back in 2011.

Pharrell WilliamsHappy falls one place to Number 3, while the week’s second highest new entry comes courtesy of David Guetta FT Skylar Grey with Shot Me Down (Number 4). Katy B’s Crying For No Reason completes this week’s Top 5.

New Entries and High Climbers

In addition to Zedd and Hayley Williams (2) and David Guetta (4), there are four other new entries in this week's Top 40.

Californian producer Le Youth takes the vocals of American rapper and model Dominique Young Unique, adds a sprinkling of a TLC No Scrubs sample, and ends up delivering his first UK Top 20 hit. Dance With Me is fresh in at Number 11.

Vine rising star, Dapper Laughs, who describes himself as a "proper lad giving lad advice on romancing the ladies”, makes his chart debut at Number 15 today with Proper Moist, which takes its moniker from one of his video catchphrases. Don’t ask, girls.

The Irish Brigade’s Roll Of Honour has entered at Number 33. Originally released in the ‘80s, the Irish song has returned due to a campaign by Celtic fans who are opposed to the Scottish government’s Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Act 2012 being enforced.

Scottish singer/songwriter Nina Nesbitt lands her second Top 40 single with Selfies (40) while John Legend’s All Of Me climbs 44 places to Number 28 following his performance on the Jonathan Ross show last weekend.

And finally, US indie rockers American Authors also jump 34 places to Number 34 with the upliftingly catchy Best Day Of My Life.
