Sophie Ellis-Bextor continues to make waves stateside, as Murder on the Dancefloor claims a brand-new Billboard Hot 100 chart peak this week.

The 2001 pop classic has been near-inescapable since its inclusion in Emerald Fennell's Saltburn film; taking over TikTok, surging on streaming and even returning to its original Number 2 peak on the Official Singles Chart.

And the hype's showing no signs of slowing down, as Sophie makes big gains on America's Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Speaking on Murder on the Dancefloor's renaissance, Sophie recently told Official Charts:

"I’m always very connected to my music, and one thing I’ve always loved about my work is its ability to surprise me. Murder on the Dancefloor is a song I’ve been singing for 20 years, and I’m on really good terms with it. I love singing it, I love performing it and what’s happening at the moment is kind of magical, actually.

"Thank you [to all the fans new and old streaming the song] for such a magical adventure. I’m so proud of Murder on the Dancefloor, but I also share it with everybody who has love for it. I’m just having so much fun. Thank you!"

This comes as Sophie announces the release of physical Murder on the Dancefloor reissues across vinyl and CD formats; the products even branded with the song's Saltburn tie-in.
